Basement Vulnerable to Leaks
Even with a sump pump installed in the basement, the addition to their home made it more prone to leaking. Although the sump pump was fully functional, it needed additional drainage to be able to safely guide that water to the sump pump without it being exposed to the basement.
Perimeter Drainage Set in Stone
WaterGuard collects water at the perimeter of the basement before it is exposed to the basement space. We started work on the project by chipping out concrete along the perimeter of the basement and placing the WaterGuard system within crushed stone to ensure proper flow of water.

After the system was flood tested to ensure water can safely be removed from the home, the WaterGuard system is then concreted in place. The concrete is laid to grade, making the system hardly noticeable once the concrete dries.
Drainage System Installed to Sump Pump
The WaterGuard drainage system ties directly into the sump pump's basin. Once water enters the basin, the sump pump activates to eject the water from the home through the discharge line.
