Inefficient Sump Pump
The sump pump already installed in the finished basement was unable to capture all water that surrounded the home's foundation due to a high water table. This left the basement prone to water intrusion.
Finished Basement Water Intrusion
Asa you can see in the photo, the finished walls and floors experienced water damage as a result of water seepage. This not only creates an eyesore, but also exposes the basement to mold growth and potential structural issues.
Drywall Demo and Perimeter Chipping
Our crew started work on the project by removing the lower portion of drywall and chipping out concrete along the perimeter of the basement to allow space for our WaterGuard drainage system to be installed.
Basement Drainage System
The WaterGuard perimeter drainage system is an interior French drain that collects water before it is able to access the basement space. The water collected is then distributed to the sump pump for removal. Once the system is put in place, it is flood tested. After passing the flood test, it is concreted in place to grade, making the system barely even noticeable.
Basement Drainage System Tied into Sump Pump
This photo showcases how our WaterGuard system seamlessly ties into the existing sump pump. Our drainage system directly connects to the sump pump, depositing the collected water in the sump pump's basin.
Drainage System Added to Sump Pump Completed Installation
Once the WaterGuard drainage system is connected to the sump pump, it is cemented in place. We lay concrete to grade, ensuring a smooth and even finish for the foundation floor. This is essential for installing finished flooring.
Preventing Frozen Discharge Lines
Water is removed from the home through a discharge line. We reconstructed the exterior discharge line to eliminate the risk of the discharge line freezing and water returning to the home. IceGuard allows water to run freely despite harsh winter temperatures, further safeguarding the basement.
Bubbler Pot
A bubbler pot was installed at the end of the discharge line and encased in crushed stone to better absorb the water into the soil. This prevents water pooling on the lawn's surface.
Drywall Reinforcement
Metal studs were connected to support our EverLast Half Wall Pannel.
Basement Finished Wall Installation
Our crew installed the EverLast Half Wall. This wall is made of inorganic material, making it waterproof and mold proof, all while providing an attractive finish.
