Cracked Foundation Wall
Stair-step cracking is a sign that this fieldstone foundation wall is failing.
PowerBrace Installation
PowerBraces are installed along the foundation wall to help stabilize the bowing structure. They are installed to the joists and then cemented into the ground. Rebar is then woven through the PowerBraces to add kicking power for when the auxiliary wall is completed.
Adjusting Rebar to Shape of the Wall
The rebar was adjusted to the shape of the wall to provide the maximum support.
Auxiliary Wall Forms
Forms are set up to shape the concrete wall. They are sealed tight to prevent any cement leakage.
Forms Reinforced
Wooden beams were used to reinforce the shape of the auxiliary wall. The wet cement being poured can be a heavy process, so taking every measure to ensure the wall shape remains intact is essential.
Concrete Pump
The concrete is pumped securely through an egress window of the home. During this pumping process, the concrete is evenly poured throughout the wall. The team uses a mechanism to empty our air pockets, making sure the wall is as durable as possible.
Concrete Wall Leveled
After the pour is complete, our production team levels the concrete.
Completed Auxiliary Wall Installation
After the concrete hardened, the forms were stripped, revealing the completed auxiliary wall. Now, the homeowner can rest assured that their foundation is stabilized.
Basement Drainage System
WaterGuard was installed at the perimeter of the newly installed auxiliary wall and along the rest of the basement wall. This system collects water before being exposed to the basement and transfers it to the sump pump to be removed from the home.
Sump Pump System
The TripleSafe Sump Pump system has three pumps, including a primary, secondary, and battery-powered backup pump. These pumps activate accordingly to ensure that water is pumped out of the home at all times, even during power outages.
Preventing Frozen and Clogged Discharge Lines
As water leaves the home through a discharge line, IceGuard was fixed to the exterior portion. This mechanism allows water to flow freely despite freezing temperatures or if a clog was to occur. This added layer of protection even further ensures that the basement will not flood.
Bubbler Pot
A bubbler pot is installed at the end of the discharge line to prevent water from pooling at the lawn's surface.
Floor Stabilization
Lastly, our production crew installed 3 SmartJacks in the basement. The installation of these SmartJacks stabilized the floors above, eliminating any trace of uneven or sagging floors.
