WaterGuard Perimeter Drainage
The perimeter of the basement concrete is chipped up approximately 8 inches from the foundation wall to provide space for the WaterGuard system. After the concrete is removed, the WaterGuard system is put in place along crushed stone.
Sump Pump Installation
The TripleSafe sump pump system is composed of three pumps. The first pump operates at 1/3 horsepower to pump normal levels of water out of the home. A second pump is activated at 1/2 horsepower when higher levels of water are encountered. This could include heavy rains or snow melting. Lastly, a battery-powered pump operates in case of an emergency such as a power outage. This system sits in a basin that the WaterGuard system filters the water to.
Cement Finish
Once the systems are installed, they are cemented in place for a clean finish.
Removing Water From the Home
In order to remove the water from the home, it must have a place to go. The exterior discharge line connects to the sump pump and provides a location safely away from the home so that water can be pumped out.
Exterior Discharge Line Burial and IceGuard
The exterior discharge line is buried for a more appealing look. Also note that at the top of the photo, IceGuard had been installed. IceGuard is a sump pump discharge system that prevents pipes from freezing. This guarantees that your sump pump plumbing will not get backed up and flood.
