Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Moisture Issue and Sump Pump Installation, Wakefield, MA
This homeowner in Wakefield, MA had recently purchased their home and was concerned with moisture in their basement. The high levels of moisture were evident in the older fieldstone walls and was affecting the air quality and integrity of the wooden beams throughout the basement. Our team designed and installed a solution to help control these humidity levels and keep the problem from getting worse.
Over one section of the basement walls, a polyurethane spray was applied over the fieldstone material to help contain the crumbling mortar and provide some insulation value. The perimeter walls were then also covered with Cleanspace vapor wall barrier, which will help prevent moisture from seeping through the walls and into the air of the basement as humidity. For the water that may enter the space, perimeter drainage was added to divert it to a sump pump system, along with a battery back-up in case of power outages.
This new homeowner has peace of mind that their home and investment is in good condition and protected for years to come against water issues in their basement.
Polyurethane Wall Spray
This spray was applied to an older wall to help contain the loose material and mortar. It can be painted or covered with vapor barrier.
Sump Pump Installation
One of the first steps for the installation crew is to get the sump pump pit prepared and the basin put in place. The rest of waterproofing system can then be tied into the basin to complete the installation.
