Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Mold Growing in Finishing in Basement, New London, NH
This homeowner in New London, New Hampshire, had a partially finished basement with wood finishes. The homeowners have noticed water in the basement for a couple of weeks now. They have become concerned with the potential of mold forming in the basement so they reached out to EFS to inspect their basement. Our Design Specialist Victor Tapia met with the homeowners, inspected the basement, and found mold under the baseboard heating system. To protect the home Victor recommended installing a perimeter drainage system and a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier in the basement to prevent mold and water from collecting. To gain access to the finished walls the homeowner removed the wood finishing so our team could install our perimeter drainage. We then chipped out 40 feet of concrete around the perimeter of the finished area so we could install our WaterGuard and TripleSafe. We laid the sump pump basin in place and then the drainage. The drainage is integrated into the sump and then we plumbed the system to the exterior of the home. On the outside of the home, we installed our IceGuard and 30 feet of exterior drainage line to carry water away from the foundation of the home. After the exterior drainage was installed we returned to the basement to mix up concrete to cover the perimeter drainage and around the sump pump basin. Once the concrete cured the team was able to complete the job by installing our SaniDry Sedona next to the TripleSafe and reinstalling the baseboard heating in the finished portion of the basement. To keep the dehumidifier removing moisture from the air we fed the discharge line into the sump pump basin of the sump pump.
After we completed the job, we took the homeowner on a final walkthrough. We showed them everything we installed and answered any questions they had. They were very pleased with the results of the project.
