Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Water Leaking into Basement and Ruining Finished Rooms, Hudson, NH
A homeowner in Hudson, New Hampshire, has lived in the home since the 1980s. Since right before covid the homeowner had noticed water leaking into the basement and causing damage to their finished rooms. They called EFS to have us inspect their basement and find them a solution to prevent water from entering the basement. Our Design Specialist Liam Fitzpatrick met with the homeowner and asked them questions about the water that enters their basement. After their conversation, Liam began inspecting the basement to find a solution to keep the basement dry. Liam recommended installing a sump pump, perimeter drainage, a humidifier, and exterior drainage to the home so we could eliminate the threat of water entering the basement.
Our installation team began by chipping out 45 feet of concrete along the perimeter of the basement so we could create a trench and basin for our drainage and sump pump to lay in. Our team installed 45 feet of WaterGuard and linked it to our TripleSafe sump pump. The WaterGuard will collect water from below the slab and from the wall and guide the water to the sump pump basin where one of our three TripleSafe pumps will pump the water outside. We plumbed the three pumps to the exterior of the home where we installed 2 IceGuards and a 35-foot buried Exterior Drainage Line to carry the water away from the foundation of the home. After the exterior drainage was installed, the team mixed concrete and poured it over the drainage and around the sump pump basin. The concrete cured, and then the team installed our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier which will control the humidity in the basement to prevent odor, mold, and dry rot. Lastly, the system was flood-tested to make sure everything was operational.
Once the system was confirmed to be working perfectly, the team did a walkthrough with the homeowner to explain the features of the system and answer any questions. The homeowner was very pleased with the installation and did not have to worry about water entering their basement.
Basement Before
The basement had water entering and collecting on the floor.
Perimeter Drainage
The team chipped out 45 feet of concrete along the perimeter of the basement. This will allow us to install our WaterGuard and collect any water from the walls and beneath the slab.
WaterGuard Fully Installed
The team installed the WaterGuard along the perimeter of the basement. The drainage was installed just below the level of the slab so we could pour concrete over it and the concrete be flush with the slab.
TripleSafe and SaniDry Installed
The TripleSafe was linked to the WaterGuard and SaniDry to collect any water from the drainage and dehumidifier.
