Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Bulkhead Leaking into Basement, Rumney, NH
A homeowner in Rumney, New Hampshire, has been living in their home for the past 30 years. Around 10 years ago, they noticed water leaking through the bulkhead. They attempted to use tarps to stop the water but were unsuccessful as the water kept finding its way through the old bulkhead. After years of dealing with this issue, the homeowners decided to seek professional help and called EFS for an inspection. Jason, one of our Design Specialists, met with them and looked at the bulkhead to see what could be done. After inspecting the bulkhead and the base it sits on, Jason discovered that water was trickling underneath the bulkhead and into the basement. He recommended replacing the old bulkhead with a new one and installing new sealant around it to prevent it from leaking. Before leaving, Jason measured the old bulkhead, so we could order the same size.
Our Installation Team, led by Eric Witham, started by removing the old bulkhead and cleaning up the concrete to ensure we could create a tight seal with the new bulkhead. Once the old bulkhead was removed, we built and installed the new bulkhead. Before leaving, we tested the bulkhead for leaks to make sure water would not seep into the basement.
The homeowners were very pleased that the issue they had been dealing with for 10 years had finally been resolved.
Old Bulkhead
Water was entering through the bulkhead and collecting into the basement.
New Bulkhead
The team installed the new bulkhead and sealed it so any water couldn't penetrate through it.
