Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Leaky Basement, Winchester, MA
This homeowner in Winchester, Massachusetts, owns a home that was originally built in 1925 but was added to in the early 1990s. Since buying the home in the late 80s, they have seen water enter the basement during heavy rain and become tired of cleaning up water. The homeowners called EFS for a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist Kenny Calabrese took a detailed look in the basement to find a solution to the problem. He found that water was entering the basement near one of the egress windows. Kenny recommended installing WaterGuard and CleanSpace Wall in the basement to collect any water that seeps in.
Our Installation Team led by Anthony LoCascio began by chipping out a couple of feet of concrete beneath the egress window. We then installed WaterGuard where we chipped out the concrete and then installed CleanSpace up the wall and around the egress window. This will allow us to collect any seepage from under this window and collect and drain it through the WaterGuard. After everything was in place the team then mixed up concrete and poured it over the WaterGuard to lock everything into place.
The homeowners were very happy with the results of the project. They no longer have to worry about water leaking onto the slab in the basement.
Water Leaking into Basement
Water had been leaking into the basement of this 1920s home and threatened to ruin some of the homeowner's belongings.
CleanSpace Installed
The CleanSpace will collect water leaking from the wall and guide it down to the WaterGuard at the bottom of the wall.
WaterGuard Installed
We installed a section of WaterGuard beneath the CleanSpace to collect water dripping down the CleanSpace.
