Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Water Seeping Through Stone Foundation, Manchester, NH
A homeowner in Manchester, New Hampshire, lives in a home that was built in the 1960s, and a section of their stone foundation leaks during heavy rainstorms. The homeowners want to be able to use their basement for storage but cannot because they are worried about water seeping into the basement. The homeowners called EFS for a free inspection of their basement to find a solution to prevent water from seeping into the basement. Our Design Specialist Bryan Barnard looked at the stone foundation wall and the basement to design a solution to prevent water intrusion. After Bryan's inspection, he recommended installing CleanSpace, WaterGuard, TripleSafe, IceGuard, and EDL in the basement to collect and pump out any water that threatened to come into the basement.
Our installation team led by Gunther Billhardt began by chipping out 9 feet of concrete in the corner of the basement where the water was seeping into the basement. After the concrete was chipped the team installed our TripleSafe and WaterGuard so we could collect any water. We plumbed the sump pump to the exterior of the home and installed 2 IceGuards and a 30-foot exterior drainage line. Next, we installed CleanSpace over the foundation wall and connected it to the perimeter drainage so any moisture from the wall would trickle into the drainage system and then into the sump pump. After the CleanSpace was integrated into the perimeter drainage system we then mixed concrete and covered the drainage and around the sump pump basin to lock the system into place.
The homeowner was very pleased with the results of the project. Since the system was installed into the home they haven't seen any water in there basement.
