Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Finished Basement Leaking, Newburyport, MA
A homeowner in Newburyport, Massachusetts, purchased their home 6 years ago and this past spring they had seen their first sign of water entering their finished basement. Since then they have seen the issue reoccur a few more times. To find a solution to the problem the homeowners decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist met with the homeowners and looked in the basement. After the inspection, the specialist recommended installing a SuperSump, IceGuard, WaterGuard, and TrenchDrain into the basement. This will collect the water and pump it out of the basement before it can collect on the floors of the finished basement.
Our installation team led by Anthony LoCascio began by chipping out concrete along the perimeter of the basement. Along the perimeter of the basement, we installed our SuperSump, TrenchDrain, and WaterGuard. The drainage will collect water that threatens to enter the basement and send it toward the sump pump. The sump pump basin will be connected to the drainage and the basin will collect the water until the pump can push the water out of the basement and away from the foundation wall. To make sure the water is guided away from the foundation wall we installed our IceGuard and Exterior Drainage Line on the exterior of the home. After the system was tested we mixed up concrete and covered the perimeter drainage with concrete and then poured more concrete around the basin of the sump pump to lock everything into place.
After the concrete was cured, the homeowner was able to refinish the walls and get their finished basement back with peace of mind that no water could damage it again.
Basement Before
The sump pump will be installed in the section of the basement used for storage.
Basement Before
Water had leaked into both the finished and unfinished portion of the basement.
SuperSump Installed
The team installed the sump pump into the unfinished portion of the basement.
Perimeter Drainage
The team then installed drainage along the foundation wall to collect any water that tries to enter the basement.
Drainage Continued
We continued the drainage through a finished wall so we could completely capture any water that could enter through this foundation wall.
