Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Crack Behind Electrical Panel, Ipswich, MA
A property management company in Ipswich, Massachusetts was servicing some buildings when they discovered that at least two buildings were experiencing the same issue. Water was leaking into the basement from behind the electrical box, which had already caused damage to the metal box and threatened to damage the electrical system. To address the issue, the property management company contacted EFS for help.
EFS's Design Specialist Kenny Calabrese met with the property owners and the management company to inspect the basement and recommend a solution. After inspecting the area behind the electrical box, Kenny recommended sealing the crack with FlexiSpan to prevent water from seeping into the basement.
EFS's Installation Team, led by Steven Dumais, began by temporarily moving the electrical box. After clearing out the crack and chipping out the drainage where the crack meets the floor, the team installed a membrane over the crack. They then covered the membrane with a strong adhesive to prevent water seepage. The system allows water to flow through the crack but guides it to the drainage, where it flows beneath the home. Finally, the team poured concrete over the drain to lock everything in place.
The homeowners were very satisfied with the results of the project, and the property management company was also pleased. They decided to use EFS for any future issues they encounter with their properties.
