A homeowner in Manchester, New Hampshire has been living in their home for the past 12 years. They were planning on selling the home in the upcoming summer. However, before they sold the home and moved to Georgia, they wanted to address a persistent issue that has gotten worse over the years. Water has been leaking into the basement from the bulkhead and collecting on the floor. The homeowner wanted to prevent this issue before selling the home to a new family. They contacted EFS for a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist, Bryan Barnard, met with the homeowners and recommended installing a sump pump and drainage system below their bulkhead door to collect water that entered the basement.
Our Installation Team, led by Anthony LoCascio, began by chipping out 12 feet of concrete from below the bulkhead door to the corner of the basement. Under the bulkhead door, we installed 6 feet of Trench Drain and then 6 feet of WaterGuard to the corner. Tucked into the corner of the basement, we installed a TripleSafe. Our team installed the sump and then plumbed the system to the exterior of the homeowner where we installed our exterior drainage system. We installed two IceGuards and then a 40-foot buried exterior drainage line that will carry water away from the foundation. After the exterior drainage was installed, we returned to the basement and locked the system into place with concrete. We covered the WaterGuard and put concrete around the TrenchDrain and TripleSafe to secure them.
The homeowner was very happy with the results and how quickly the project was completed.
