Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Water Entering Basement During Renovations, Nashua, NH
A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire recently purchased a home that required some major renovations, including a 2nd-floor addition, roof work, and a new basement entrance. However, the contractor working on the renovations noticed water entering the basement through the cold joints and recommended that the homeowner get a free basement inspection from EFS. The homeowner contacted EFS, and our Design Specialist, Josh Phillips, inspected the basement to find a solution to the problem. Based on his inspection, Josh recommended a waterproofing system that would include perimeter drainage, a sump pump, and a dehumidifier to mitigate the water issue.
Our Installation Team, led by Gunther Billhardt, began the installation process by chipping out the concrete where the water was seeping in. We removed all debris before installing the WaterGuard, TrenchDrain, and TripleSafe. We placed 42 feet of WaterGuard against the foundation wall to collect any water from the floor or wall. For areas with immovable objects, such as around the heating system and under the basement door, we used TrenchDrain to go around them. Then we installed the TripleSafe to collect all the water collected in the perimeter drainage. To ensure that the water was pumped out and away from the foundation, our team installed 2 IceGuard and a 10-foot buried exterior drainage line. After the drainage line was installed, we mixed concrete and covered the perimeter drainage and sump pump inside the basement to lock everything in place. Finally, we installed our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier next to the TripleSafe to lower the humidity inside the basement and discharge the moisture into the sump basin.
The installed system is highly effective in preventing water from entering and collecting inside the basement, providing a long-lasting solution to the homeowner's problem.
Basement Before
The contractor was doing work on the home before the homeowner moved in. The contractor found water entering the basement from a cold joint and called the owner to notify them.
Perimeter Drainage Installed
Our installation team chipped out concrete along the perimeter of the basement so we could install our WaterGuard and TrenchDrain. This will collect the water from the basement and send it into the sump pump basin.
Sump Pump and Dehumidifier
Our team installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump and SaniDry Sedona into the basement to control the water and moisture inside the basement.
Exterior Drainage Installed
We installed 2 IceGuards and a 10-foot buried drainage line to carry water away from the foundation.
