Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Stopping Water Seepage, Concord, MA
A homeowner in Concord, Massachusetts, purchased their 90-year-old home in 2012. After living in the home for a while they noticed ongoing seepage in their basement. Over the last 10+ years, the basement has seen more seepage. The homeowners would like to prevent water from entering and collecting on the basement floor. They would like to make their basement a place where they can safely store items and have a place where their kid can play.
The homeowners called EFS for a free inspection of their home. They scheduled an appointment and our Design Specialist Tom Armano met with homeowners and talked to them about their concerns. After their conversation, Tom then inspected the basement and recommended a solution to prevent further water seepage.
Tom recommended installing WaterGuard, an UltraSump, and IceGuard to prevent further seepage into the basement.
Our installation team began by chipping out a trench around the perimeter of the basement. In this trench, our team will install our 116' of WaterGuard and also an UltraSump in the lowest corner of the basement to collect all of the water possible. Next, the team plumbed the sump pump to the exterior of the home. On the outside of the home, the team then installed the IceGuard and the drainage line. After the drainage was set up the team then returned inside the basement to mix concrete and cover the perimeter drainage and around the sump pump with concrete to lock it into place.
Basement Before
Water had been seeping into the basement for years.
Perimeter Drainage
The team installed 116' of WaterGuard around the basement.
More WaterGuard
The WaterGuard will collect any water that threatens to enter the basement and guide the water to the UltraSump.
UltraSump Installed
The WaterGuard is connected to the sump pump so any water from the perimeter drainage system will be guided into the basin of the sump pump.
