Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Old Fieldstone Foundation Leaking Water, Acton, MA
This homeowner in Acton, Massachusetts, had lived in their 125-year-old home for the past 25+ years. Since purchasing the home over 25 years ago they had consistently had water seeping into their basement but it was never more than a couple of puddles. Now 25 + years later the problem has allowed ongoing seeping that seems to get a little worse every year. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their home to solve the water seepage issue in their basement. Our Design Specialist Tom Armano met with the homeowners and inspected the entire basement to figure out how we could prevent water from seeping into the basement. Tom recommended installing a perimeter drainage system in the basement to collect any water that tried to seep onto the basement floor. Our Installation Team led by Gunther and Paul began by chipping out the concrete around the perimeter of the basement for us to install our WaterGuard and UltraSump into the basement. We created a trench that was approximately 6 inches wide and also chipped out a hole in the concrete big enough to fit our sump pump basin. After all of the necessary concrete was removed the team then began laying the perimeter drainage and sump pump beneath the slab. Next, the team plumed the Ultra Sump and plumbed it to the exterior of the home where we installed an IceGuard and an exterior drainage line. After the exterior drainage was installed we returned back into the basement to mix up concrete and pour it over the WaterGuard and around the UltraSump. After the concrete cured the team lastly installed our SaniDry Sedona next to the sump pump so we could place the discharge line into the sump pump.
Perimeter Drainage Being Installed
The team installed 150' of WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement.
SaniDry Sedona
We installed our SaniDry Sedona into the basement to control the humidity inside the basement.
UltraSump Installed
The UltraSump was installed and connected to the perimeter drainage system to collect any water and pump it outside the home.
Ice Guard and Drainage Line
We installed an IceGuard on the exterior of the home to prevent water from backing up into the basement. Connected to the IceGuard the team installed an exterior drainage line to carry water away from the foundation.
