Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: 4" of Water In Basement, Hudson, NH
A homeowner in Hudson, New Hampshire, has lived in their 1960s home for over 40 years. With all of the rain that we've had during 2023, the homeowner has seen water collect in their basement a lot this year. One storm this year flooded their basement about 4" and this made them consider calling EFS for a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist John Prince met with the homeowner and inspected the basement. After his inspection, John recommended installing a perimeter drainage system into the basement to collect any water that attempts to enter.
Our Installation Team led by Steve Dumais began by chipping out over 90 feet of concrete so we could install our WaterGuard perimeter drain and TripleSafe sump pump. For the perimeter drainage, the team created a long trench at the base of the foundation wall that was approximately 6 inches wide and a couple of inches deep so we could install the WaterGuard. For the TripleSafe the team chipped out enough concrete so we could install our circular basin. The team then dug down so we could install the basin for the sump pump. After everything was the proper length, width, and depth the team then installed the WaterGuard and the sump basin. After they were both installed the team then installed the TripleSafe into the basin. After they were installed in the basin the team then plumbed the sump pump to the exterior of the home where we installed the IceGuard and the drainage line. Once the team installed the exterior drainage the team returned back inside to pour concrete. The team mixed and poured concrete over the WaterGuard and around the basin of the TripleSafe to lock them into place. After the concrete was cured, the team installed our high-strength SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to control the levels of moisture within the basement.
Basement Before
The basement has had water collecting and the old sump pump could not keep up with the water coming in.
Old Sump Pump
The old sump pump was struggling to keep water out of the basement.
WaterGuard Being Installed
The team installed 90' of WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement to help guide water to the new TripleSafe.
Concrete Over WaterGuard
After the WaterGuard was installed and tested the team then used concrete to lock everything into place.
TripleSafe and SaniDry Sedona Installed
The sump pump will collect water from the perimeter drainage and from the SaniDry and pump it to the exterior of the home.
