Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Basement Has Always Had Water Entering, Sandown, NH
A homeowner residing in Sandown, New Hampshire, occupies a house constructed in the 1940s. Over the years, the house has undergone several updates. In 2019, the current homeowner bought the house with the intention of finishing the basement after their daughter moved out. However, there was a persistent issue of water entering the basement every time it rained or melted. The homeowners had been grappling with this issue for four years and decided to call EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist, Jason Vachon, examined the basement and recommended installing a perimeter drainage system to collect any water that entered and pump it outside.
Subsequently, our Installation Team, led by Branden Edwards, began by chipping out the basement's perimeter to install our WaterGuard and TripleSafe. The entire perimeter was chipped out, and dirt was removed so that our drainage and sump pump would fit under the slab. We then installed the WaterGuard and TripleSafe in the basement and plumbed the sump pump to the exterior of the house, where we installed our IceGuard and Exterior Drainage Line. The IceGuard was installed first to prevent the system from backing up into the basement. We then installed 20' of Exterior Drainage Line, which would be buried beneath the ground, carrying water away from the foundation of the house. Next, we mixed up concrete to cover the WaterGuard and fill around the basin of the sump pump to lock everything in place.
Upon completion of the job, the homeowner was thrilled with the project's outcome, and they could now finish the basement whenever they pleased.
