Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Perimeter Drainage and Encapsulation Installed in late 1800s Home, Amesbury, MA
A homeowner located in Amesbury, Massachusetts recently bought a house that was constructed in the late 1800s. For the past 6 years, the owner has been experiencing water leakage in the basement and has grown tired of cleaning up the mess. In an effort to resolve the issue, the homeowner contacted EFS to request a free basement inspection. Michael LaMalfa, our Design Specialist, met with the homeowner and completed the inspection. Following the inspection, Michael suggested the installation of a TripleSafe, WaterGuard, and CleanSpace to keep the basement dry and prevent water from entering in the future.
To start the installation process, Branden Edwards and his Installation Team chipped out a 6-inch-wide trench around the basement perimeter, which will serve as the drainage system. Before encapsulating the drainage with concrete, the team installed CleanSpace on the wall and tied it into the perimeter drainage. The TripleSafe was also installed in the basement's lowest corner to collect water from the perimeter drainage system. Finally, the team mixed concrete and poured it over the drainage system and sump pump to keep everything in place.
Basement Before
The basement was leaking water for at least the past 6 years.
CleanSpace and Perimeter Drainage Installed
The team installed 55' of WaterGuard and 60' of CleanSpace into the basement.
More WaterGuard and CleanSpace
The team made sure to integrate the CleanSpace to the WaterGuard so any water from the wall will be funneled into the perimeter drainage system.
