Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: RockWell Installation, Methuen, MA
A homeowner in Methuen, Massachusetts, lived in a home that was built in the 1960s. They purchased the home 8 years ago and want to expand the living space of the home by creating a bedroom in the basement. They reached out to EFS because a window needs to be installed in the basement for them to be code compliant. Our Design Specialist John inspected the home and recommended installing a RockWell System and a new egress window into the basement. John made sure that the window and RockWell met code requirements.
Our production team began by removing a section of concrete from the foundation wall so they could install the egress window. Once the concrete was removed, the team then removed some dirt from against the foundation wall. After the dirt was removed the dirt the team installed the RockWell against the exterior foundation wall to create a step out of the basement. Once the RockWell was secured the team installed the egress window complete with framing and Ice and Water shield to make sure water doesn't seep into the basement. After the egress window was installed the team moved on to the final part of the project which was installing the cover to the top of the RockWell. The team attached the cover to the foundation wall and pitched it away from the home so water won't collect in the RockWell.
