Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: High Water Table Causing Water to Enter Basement, Newburyport, MA
This homeowner in Newburyport, Massachusetts was experiencing water coming into their basement. The area surrounding the home has a high water table and believe that is why water is entering their basement as frequently as it does. After enduring this issue for almost a year, after no water entered the basement for the first 24 years, the homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection.
Design Specialist John Prince inspected the home. He noticed that water was coming in from the perimeter of the home. John recommended installing Water Guard around the entire perimeter of the basement to collect any water that enters the basement. A SuperSump and Ice Guard will also be installed to pull the water out of the basement.
Crew Lead Ed Nadreau and his crew arrived at the home and installed 137' of Water Guard, a SuperSump, and an Ice Guard into the basement.
Basement Before EFS
This is what the basement looked like before Water Guard and SuperSump were installed.
Chipped Concrete
The concrete is chipped out along the perimeter of the basement so that Water Guard can be installed against the wall.
Water Guard and Concrete
Water Guard is placed in the trench and then covered with crushed stone and concrete.
The Sump Pump
The SuperSump is placed at the lowest point in the basement so that all of the water from the Water Guard will flow toward the SuperSump to be pushed outside.
Ice Guard and Drainage Pipe Installed
The team installed the Ice Guard and drainage pipe on the exterior of the home. The drainage pipe extends at least 10 feet from the home to make sure the water doesn't re-enter the home.
