Solving Water Concerns Then Using Home as Rental Property, North Hampton, NH

Challenge

A home in North Hampton, New Hampshire was built in 1953 and the current owner of the home has owned the home for the past 65 years. About a decade ago they noticed water beginning to enter the basement. It seems that every year since they noticed the issue it has gotten worse. The homeowners would like to find a solution to the problem before they move out of their home and use it as a rental property. The owners were willing to do whatever was needed to fix the problem before getting a tenant to move into the home.

They decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their home. Our Design Specialist Anthony Brancato met with the homeowners and talked about their water concerns in the basement. After talking with the homeowners Anthony inspected the home and recommended a solution to prevent water from entering the basement.

Solution

Anthony recommended installing a full perimeter drainage system in the basement.

His proposal included:

128' of WaterGuard
1 TripleSafe sump pump
2 IceGuards
1 LawnScape Outlet
20' Exterior Discharge Line
SaniDry Sedona

Our Installation Team led by Abdou Taal arrived at the home and began by chipping out the concrete around the perimeter of the basement so we could install our WaterGuard and TripleSafe into the basement. The WaterGuard will be installed around the perimeter of the basement and the team will dig a hole for our TripleSafe basin to rest in. The team installed the drainage and sump pump in the basement. After the system was installed the team then plumbed the TripleSafe to the exterior of the home where we installed our 2 IceGuards, Exterior Drainage Line, and LawnScape from the home into the yard. We buried the drainage line and LawnScape in the yard to make the system as discrete as possible.

The homeowners were very pleased with the results of the project. They are now confident in renting their home to tenants.
