Radon Extraction Points
Our crew started work on the project by creating radon extraction points in the basement's foundation. PVC pipe was then fit to the extraction points and configured to the exterior of the home.
More Radon Extraction Points
A total of four extraction points were created due to the severity of radon levels in the home. This allows for the most effective way to remove radon gas from the home.
Radon Fan
Once the PVC pipe reaches the exterior of the home, the radon fan is installed to it. The radon fan is designed to draw radon gas from underneath the home's foundation, preventing it from seeping into the home. A total of two radon fans were installed.
Radon Fan Aesthetic Package
Once the radon fan is installed, additional PVC pipe is connected to the fan and surpasses the roofline. It is essential to go above the roofline and away from any entry points of the home to safely remove radon gas from the residence. The aesthetic package was then placed over the radon fan to add a more pleasant look.
Additional Radon Fan
Here is a view of the second radon system that was installed.
Radon Monometer
Radon monometers were installed to the two systems to ensure that they are operating correctly. The monometer measures how much the radon fan is drawing. When the arrow is in the green section of the display, homeowners have peace of mind that the radon mitigation system is working properly.
