Photo Album: Proactively Installing a Radon Mitigation System in Manchester, NH
After installing a new hot water system in their basement, a family in Manchester, NH started thinking about the quality of air in their home. After doing some research, they decided to test their home for radon gas. The results showed levels at 3.6 pCi/L, which fell within safety levels of 4.0 pCi/L. Rather than living in fear that radon levels could worsen over time, they chose to be proactive and install a radon mitigation system for peace of mind. In this photo gallery, we demonstrate how we at Erickson Foundation Solutions install our radon system, offering a permanent solution to radon woes.
Radon Extraction Point
We cored a small hole in the foundation floor to capture radon that exists under the home. PVC pipe was then constructed up the basement and cored out to the exterior of the home.
Radon Mitigation Fan
Once the pipe reaches the exterior of the home, the radon fan is installed. This fan is designed to draw radon from underneath the foundation, and release it above the roofline, safely away from any points of possible exposure.
Radon Monometer
A monometer was installed to the radon system, ensuring that the system is working effectively. This gives further peace of mind to the homeowners that their home is safe from radon gas!
