At Erickson Foundation Solutions, we tackled a troubling issue for a homeowner from Windham, NH, whose basement was at risk of water damage from foundation leaks. Our expert team installed WaterGuard, SuperSump, IceGuard, and CleanSpace to safeguard the space. Previously Installed Sump Pump

The previously installed sump pump was unable to capture all the water from the high water table surrounding the home. This has led to leaks coming from both the foundation walls and floor.

Preparing to Install Basement Perimeter Drainage System

Our crew started work on the project by removing concrete along the foundation wall to allow space for WaterGuard to be installed.

Basement Drainage System Installation

After concrete was chipped out and the debris was removed, WaterGuard was installed to the perimeter of the foundation. WaterGuard collects water from before becoming accessible to the basement, and channels it to the sump pump basin. This system rests within crushed stone to ensure proper flow.

Foundation Wall Encapsulation System

CleanSpace was installed to the foundation walls to prevent moisture from occupying the basement. This prevents mold growth, humidity, and fosters a healthier basement environment. Any moisture collected by CleanSpace drains directly into the WaterGuard System, further making sure the basement stays permanently dry.

Concreting Waterproof System in Place

After the systems are installed, they are tested to ensure that water is successfully removed from the home. Once passing the test, they are concreted in place.

Surface Drainage System

TrenchDrain was installed around immovable utilities, as seen here in the photo. TrenchDrain collects water on the foundation floor's surface and connect to WaterGuard to create one path for water to flow to the sump pump. Our drainage systems are compatible with other sump pumps, which is also illustration in this photo.

New Sump Pump Installation

As water enters the SuperSump's basin, it is met by two pumps. The first pump activates to remove typical water levels from a leaking basement. If water accumulates in the basin rapidly, in situations such as heavy rains or snow melt, a secondary pump kicks in to further make sure the basement stays dry. Water is removed from the home through a discharge line that is buried underground in a location away from the house.
