Old Sump Pump System
The failure of the old sump pump to remove water from the basement is indicated by the mold developing on the foundation floor.
Basement Perimeter Drainage
WaterGuard has been installed around the foundation's perimeter to intercept water from the surrounding moist soil before it reaches the basement. The collected water is subsequently channeled into the sump pump basin.
Vapor Barrier
CleanSpace installation on the basement walls serves as a moisture barrier. It effectively prevents mold growth, wood decay, and musty smells. Moisture captured by CleanSpace is channeled into the WaterGuard system for drainage.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
When water enters the TripleSafe's basin, it encounters a set of three pumps. The primary pump engages to manage regular water levels. During events like heavy rainfall or snowmelt, when the influx of water increases, a secondary pump kicks in. In emergencies, such as power failures, a battery-operated backup pump is activated.
Ensuring Proper Discharge Line Flow
The sump pump expels water from the house via a discharge line. IceGuard, attached to the discharge line outside the home, prevents it from freezing in the cold winter temperatures, thereby reducing the risk of backups and potential basement flooding.
Bubbler Pot
The discharge line was positioned to slope away from the house, ensuring that water does not flow back towards it. Additionally, a bubbler pot was installed at the end of the discharge line to avoid the accumulation of water on the surface of the lawn.
