Photo Album: TripleSafe Sump Pump System Installation in Bedford, NH
Homeowners in Bedford, New Hampshire were facing water intrusion through their foundation. To protect their basement against leaks and possible flooding, they contacted Erickson Foundation Solutions.
Our System Design Specialist recommended the installation of WaterGuard perimeter drainage along with the TripleSafe sump pump system to ensure a dry basement. However, after further discussions, the homeowners decided to install only the TripleSafe sump pump system. While this does not fully guarantee a permanently dry basement, it aligned with the homeowners' objectives. Given that water ingress was minimal, this solution was deemed sufficient. Should the water intrusion worsen in the future, the option to install WaterGuard remains available.
The installation team set up the sump pump system, incorporating both interior and exterior discharge lines, and integrated IceGuard into the plumbing. Positioned at the basement's lowest point, the system gathers water in the sump basin and expels it from the house via the discharge line. IceGuard, attached to the plumbing, ensures water does not freeze within the pipe, thus averting any risk of the sump basin overflowing and causing a flood in the basement.
TripleSafe Sump Pump Installation
The TripleSafe sump pump system consists of three pumps: a primary, a secondary, and a battery-powered backup pump. This ensures that water is continuously removed from the home, even during a power outage.
Interior Discharge Line
To remove water from the home, it needs to travel through a discharge line. The homeowners, desiring to disperse water in their backyard, had the interior discharge line routed upwards and around the basement's interior.
Exterior Discharge Line Before Burial
The exterior discharge line is routed outside the home, with IceGuard and LawnScape attachments installed along the line.
Exterior Discharge Line After Burial
The exterior discharge line is concealed underground to maintain the lawn's aesthetic appeal. LawnScape is nestled in crushed stone, which helps to distribute water more uniformly and also integrates seamlessly with the grass.
