Photo Album: Basement Waterproofing and Egress Window Installation in Tilton, NH

A homeowner in Tilton, New Hampshire had experienced leaks in the basement for years. With her older son moving into the home, she wanted to provide him with a dry and inviting space. Looking to revitalize the basement, she reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions. Our Design Specialist, Anthony Brancato, recommended installing a waterproofing system and an egress window with a window well. The waterproofing system consists of WaterGuard perimeter drainage, TrenchDrain surface drainage, and TripleSafe sump pump. It is designed to intercept water along the interior edge of the foundation, before being exposed to the basement. Water is then delivered to a sump basin and pumped out of the home through an exterior discharge line. The egress window was installed to illuminate the basement with more natural light. The window well allows a safe exit in the event of an emergency. What was once a wet and dreary basement has been transformed into a permanently dry and attractive living space. The homeowner was very happy with the result!

RockWell Window Well and Cover

Besides allowing a safe exit from the basement, the window well and cover is designed to allow even more light into the space while preventing debris, pests, and rainwater.

WaterGuard Perimeter Drainage

WaterGuard is installed around the perimeter of the basement to direct water to the sump pump. Once installed and tested, it is cemented in place.

TrenchDrain Surface Drainage

When WaterGuard is unable to be installed due to location such as a doorway, TrenchDrain is installed to connect the flow of water to the sump basin.

TripleSafe Sump Pump

Our TripleSafe sump pump sits in a 24-inch basin and pumps water out of the home as the basin is filled. It features a three-pump system including a primary, secondary, and battery-powered backup pump, ensuring that the system never fails.

Discharge Line with IceGuard

Water is pumped out of the home through the exterior discharge line. IceGuard is installed into the plumbing to prevent water from freezing in the PVC pipes. This prevents the system from backing up and flooding the basement. The line would typically be buried upon installation, but due to the grass being so long, our team had to return to bury it.
