Photo Album: Slab Pier Installation in Hampton, NH
A condominium in Hampton, New Hampshire had its foundation sinking. Voids had formed underneath the area that was sinking, which led to wall cracks and bent ceilings. Looking to stabilize the foundation and fill the void, they reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions.
We recommended installing helical piers to lift and level the concrete slab. These piers were drilled through the concrete until durable soil was reached. Once the 6 piers were rooted in the soil, they were simultaneously lifted to raise the foundation. With the foundation now lifted, leveled, and stabilized, they were then cemented into place. PolyLevel, a polyurethane foam, was then injected through the concrete to fill the void that existed underneath the foundation. This further stabilized the foundation and protects it from future settling.
Fixing the problem early on helped eliminate worse structural problems down the road. The people living in this condominium now have peace of mind that the building is properly supported.
Sinking Wall
The void underneath the concrete created a lack of support, causing the wall to sink and bend.
Wall Crack
Another symptom of sinking foundation is wall cracks.
Slab Piers Before Lift
The slab piers are drilled into the durable soil and are ready for lift.
Slab Piers During Lift
The piers push down into the soil simultaneously, thus raising the piers and concrete.
Slab Piers After Lift
The slab piers are cemented in place after lift and stabilization is achieved.
