Photo Album: Finished Basement Leaking in Strafford, NH
A homeowner in Strafford, New Hampshire had water entering the foundation through cold joints and slab cracks. The basement would leak 2-3 times per year, causing damage to finished walls and creating an annoying cleanup process. Wanting peace of mind that the basement will stay dry when traveling for long periods of time, he reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions.
Our Design Specialist, Jason Vachon, recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage, TrenchDrain surface drainage, and converting his sump pump into our TripleSafe liner. With such a high-water table surrounding the home, this French drain style system was essential to capturing all water, ensuring the basement stays dry.
With these systems installed, this homeowner can travel for an extended period of time knowing that his basement will always be safe from water. He was thrilled with the finished product!
Wall Demo and Perimeter Drainage
Our installation crew demoed the lower portion of the finished wall to access the foundation wall. The crew then chipped out concrete to make space for the WaterGuard system. WaterGuard collects water that exists outside the foundation and filters it to the sump pump system.
Surface Drainage
TrenchDrain was installed in areas where WaterGuard is inaccessible. This system connects to WaterGuard to continue the flow of water to the sump pump.
Old Sump Basin and Liner
The old sump basin left the sump pump exposed, increasing the possibility of damages.
TripleSafe Liner
The sump pump was placed in our TripleSafe liner. This cover helps manage humidity and prevents debris from clogging the system. WaterGuard is connected to the sump basin so that water can be pumped out of the home through an exterior discharge line.
