Drywall Demolition
The installation crew demoed drywall in the basement to access the foundation wall. This was needed in order to install WaterGuard.
Basement Drainage
WaterGuard is installed around the perimeter of the basement to collect water and send it to the sump pump. The system is installed within crushed stone to ensure proper drainage and then cemented in place.
Surface Drainage
TrenchDrain was installed to reroute water around the oil tank. It is connected to the WaterGuard system to continue the flow of water to the TripleSafe.
Sump Pump
The TripleSafe sump pump consists of three pumps. The first pump operates to remove moderate levels of water from the home. A second pump is activated when water in the sump basin reaches a certain threshold. This typically occurs during heavy rains or snow melting. A battery-powered backup pump functions in emergency situations, such as a power outage, to ensure that water still gets pumped out of the home.
Interior Discharge Line
In order for water to exit the home, a discharge system is put in place. The interior discharge line is connected to the sump pump, runs along the basement ceiling, and is cored through the foundation wall.
Exterior Discharge Line
The exterior discharge line runs out of the home and is buried in the ground, disposing water in a location that is a safe distance away from the basement. IceGuard is installed to this plumbing system, preventing frozen pipes. If pipes were to freeze, water could get backed up and fill the sump basin, exposing the basement to water.
