A homeowner in Rockport, Massachusetts had excessive water in their crawl space. This resulted in poor air quality throughout the home. Mold growth and other toxins in the air raised concern for allergies, as well as humidity. She reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions to waterproof the crawl space.
Our Design Specialist, John Prince, recommended installing CleanSpace encapsulation, TripleSafe sump pump system, and SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. The encapsulation system blocks moisture from entering the crawl space and the drainage matting filters it to the sump pump. The sump pump gathers all the unwanted water and pumps it out of the home through an exterior discharge line. The SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier further prevents moisture, creating healthy air by removing mold spores and other harmful toxins.
This combination of systems creates a permanently dry crawl space, which provides a healthier living space for the entire home.
Crawl Space Before Waterproofing
The wet crawl space leads to mold growth, humidity, and musty smells within the home.
Waterproofed Crawl Space
With CleanSpace, the crawl space is encapsulated, preventing moisture from being able to make its way in.
Before Sump Pump Installation
This is the lowest point of the crawl space. This is where the TripleSafe sump pump will be installed to allow downward flow of water to the sump basin.
After Sump Pump Installation
The TripleSafe sump pump is composed of three pumps to ensure that water will be pumped out of the home, even despite high water levels. The battery-powered backup pump guarantees that water is removed from the home during power outages. The SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier drains into the sump pump, creating a hassle-free water removal process.
