A homeowner in Canton, Massachusetts had concerns about leaks entering his back wall in the basement. This problem had started roughly two years ago and had gotten significantly worse over the recent winter when snow would melt. Looking to finish the basement in the future, this homeowner reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions to waterproof the basement, making sure it would stay dry all the time.
Design Specialist, Scott Ruisi, recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage, TrenchDrain surface drainage, TripleSafe sump pump system, and SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. This system is designed to capture water along the border of the foundation before being exposed to the floor and walls, and then delivering it to the sump pump, where it is safely pumped out of the home through an exterior discharge line. Additionally, high moisture is alleviated, creating a more comfortable and healthy living space.
Once all the systems were installed, the installation crew tested the system, ensuring quality. After our foreman, Paul Boivin performed a final walkthrough with the homeowner, he could finally enjoy his new waterproofed basement!
Perimeter Drainage System
The WaterGuard system is installed along the footing of the foundation wall to collect water. The design allows water to flow to the sump pump system.
Surface Drainage
TrenchDrain surface drainage was installed to the WaterGuard system to reroute water around the doorway.
Sump Pump Installation
Our TriplesSafe sump pump system is composed of 3 pumps, including a battery powered backup pump to ensure that water will always be pumped properly out of the home.
Dehumidifier Installation
Our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed to remove moisture from the basement. This powerful dehumidifier removes mold spores and other toxins in the air, providing excellent air quality. It can also be set up to drain automatically into the sump pump, making it hassle-free!
