In high water events such as snow melting or heavy rains, a second pump is activated to pump the extra water out of the sump basin. Lastly, a third battery-powered backup pump operates in emergency situations such as a power outage.
Exterior Discharge Line with IceGuard
The exterior discharge line is the plumbing system that guides water out of the home. This system is placed in a location where the water will stay away from the home. Additionally, IceGuard was installed to the plumbing system. IceGuard is a system that allows water to move freely despite freezing temperatures. It is essential that pipes don't freeze, as this could result in the sump pump being unable to distribute water and flood.
