A homeowner in Winchester, Massachusetts, purchased their home 35 years ago. Years ago they had water entering their basement so they installed a small makeshift pump to pump out water. Many years later the water table has risen and the pump cannot keep up with the incoming water so the homeowner called EFS for a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist George Gouthier met with the homeowners and inspected the basement. After examining the basement George recommended installing a TripleSafe, IceGuard, and Exterior Discharge Line to pump out water from the basement.
Our installation team began by removing the old makeshift sump pump. Then we chipped out some concrete and installed our bigger and more capable sump pump. After the pump was set to level with the basement floor the team plumbed the sump to the exterior of the home where we installed 2 IceGuards and 60 feet of Exterior Drainage. After the system was installed the team performed a flood test on the pump and confirmed that everything worked properly. Next, the team mixed up concrete and poured it around the basin of the sump pump to lock it into place.
While the concrete cured we cleaned up the site and took the homeowner on a final walkthrough. We then answered any questions while doing the walkthrough then we cleaned up and made sure the customer was happy.
