Photo Album: Stabilize Garage Foundation Wall, Nashua, NH

This homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire, had purchased their home 15 years ago. Over the years the homeowners have seen some cracks in the foundation wall in their garage. They wanted to finish their basement but feared the foundation wall could collapse. They reached out to EFS for a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist Peter Carstean met with the homeowner and looked at the cracks inside the garage. Peter examined the cracks and determined they were caused by the foundaiton wall moving. He recommended installing 5 Geolocks against the foundation wall to stabilize it and 3 FlexiSpans to seal the cracks in the foundation.  Our installation team began by creating a trench in the yard. The trench is 10 feet from the foundation and ran parallel so we could install our Geolocks. The team then marked out 5 spots on the foundation wall where we will install each anchor. We then drilled a small hole through the foundation and sent our threaded rod through the foundation, soil, and into the trench in the yard. Next, the team attached a Geolock Anchor to either side of the rod and tightened each end to stabilize the foundation wall slowly. The system uses leverage from the soil to stabilize and straighten the foundation wall. After the Geolocks were tightened the team then began installing the FlexiSpans over the cracks in the wall. After the project was complete the team cleaned up the job before doing a final walkthrough with the homeowner to show them what was installed. The homeowner was very pleased with the results of the project.
