Photo Album: Eliminate Water Concerns In Basement, Hollis, NH
This homeowner in Hollis, New Hampshire, had water entering their basement since they moved in 2017. The homeowner has a construction background and has tried to find a solution to the water intrusion by doing DIY projects. Nothing they have tried has been successful and the homeowner has grown tired of vacuuming up the water in the basement. The homeowner plans on finishing the basement when they solve the water issues. To solve those issues he reached out to EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist John Prince met with the homeowner and began by inspecting the basement to find where the water was entering from. John carefully inspected the entire basement and then recommended installing a full perimeter drainage system into the basement to prevent water from penetrating the basement with radon neutral perimeter drainage to prevent radon from seeping past the existing radon system.
Our installation team led by Anthony LoCascio began by chipping out over 100 feet of concrete around the perimeter of the basement. Removing the concrete will allow us to install our perimeter drainage and our TripleSafe sump pump. We first installed our large sump pump basin and pump so we could eject water out of the basement while we were working down there. After we installed the pump we then started to install our Radon Neutral WaterGuard and Trench Lock around the perimeter of the basement. Next, the team installed 58 feet of CleanSpace wall to protect that section from water seepage. The team finished installing the CleanSpace and then installed the exterior drainage to carry the water pumped from the basement away from the foundation of the home. The team installed 10 feet of buried exterior drainage and attached it to our IceGuard so the exterior drainage can't back up into the basement. Lastly, the team mixed up concrete and covered the perimeter drainage and around the sump pump to lock the system in place.
The homeowner was very happy with the installation of the new system. Since the installation, the homeowner hasn't seen any water in the basement. Now the homeowner can begin the process of finishing the basement.
