Photo Album: Water Entering Basement, Concord, MA

A homeowner in Concord, Massachusetts, had lived in their home since the early 90s. The homeowner had never seen water in the basement for the first 15 years of owning the home. In the last couple of years, they have seen a lot of water begin to enter their basement during periods of rain. During these rainstorms, the homeowner used a shop vac to remove the water from the basement. After cleaning up all the water a few times, the homeowner was tired of manually cleaning up the water. They decided to try and find a company that could install a waterproofing system in their cellar to prevent water from collecting in their basement. The homeowners called Erickson Foundation Solutions for us to inspect their basements and find a solution.  Our Design Specialist Mark Proctor met with the homeowner and looked at the unfinished space to determine what we could do to prevent water from collecting in the basement. After a full inspection of the basement, our Design Specialist recommended installing WaterGuard, TripleSafe, IceGuard, and Exterior Drainage to pump out any water from the cellar before it collects on the floor. Mark identified the lowest corner to be right next to the bulkhead so that's where the sump pump should be installed. Our installation team led by Anthony LoCascio began by chipping out the concrete along the wall with the bulkhead. After the concrete and some soil were removed the team installed our TripleSafe and WaterGuard against the foundation wall. The drainage and sump basin were installed into place and then the team plumbed the sump pump to the exterior of the home where we installed our IceGuard and Exterior Drainage Line. After the drainage was installed the team mixed up concrete and poured it over the WaterGuard and around the sump pump basin to lock the system into place. Lastly, the team performed a flood test to make sure the system was working properly.  The homeowners were very happy with the installation and that they no longer had to clean up their basement with a shop vac after a rainstorm.
