Photo Album: Condensation Building Up in Basement, Bartlett, NH
A homeowner in Bartlett, New Hampshire, purchased their home as a vacation home and moved things into the home in April 2023. While using the home during the summer months they had noticed condensation building up in the basement. They were worried this could lead to a full-blown water issue in the home while they weren't at the home. They called EFS to look at the basement so they could proactively get in front of this issue. Our Design Specialist Jason Vachon met with the homeowners and inspected the basement. Jason recommended installing a SuperSump, TrenchLock, IceGuard, and Exterior Drainage into the basement to eliminate the concern for water entering the basement.
Our installation team led by Anthony LoCascio began by chipping out concrete along the foundation wall where the condensation was occurring. We chipped out 12 feet of concrete so we could install our sump pump and perimeter drainage. We installed the drainage and sump into the basement along the same wall as the water system. Next, the team plumbed the sump pump to the exterior of the home where we installed our IceGuard and EDL. The drainage line was 20 feet long to carry water away from the foundation wall so it could not re-enter the basement. After the exterior drainage was installed the team then mixed up concrete and poured it over and around the drainage and sump pump basin. Once the concrete cured the system was locked into place and would pump out any water that entered it.
The homeowners now had peace of mind whenever they were at their other home. They didn't have to worry about water collecting inside the basement.
