Photo Album: Lowering Radon Levels Inside Basement, New Boston, NH
A homeowner residing in New Boston, New Hampshire has been living in their house since 2003. Recently, one of their neighbors informed them about the high levels of radon in their house and subsequently got a radon mitigation system installed. This prompted the homeowner to test their house for radon as well, as they regularly workout in the basement. They found that their house had a level of 4-5 pCi/L and contacted EFS for an inspection. Their design specialist Josh Phillips examined the basement and designed a radon mitigation system for the house.
The installation team, led by Steven Dumais, created two extraction points in the basement slab and attached radon pipes to them using a 3" core drill. The pipes were then sealed and linked together before being guided to the exterior of the house. A radon fan was installed on the outside of the house, connected to the radon pipe, and the pipe was then extended above the roofline to disperse the radon into the open air.
After installation, the system effectively reduced the radon levels in the house to a safe level, and the homeowner was pleased with the results of the radon mitigation system.

1st Extraction Point
The team installed the first extraction point near the stairs up to the main level of the home.
2nd Extraction Point
We linked the 1st extraction point to the 2nd and then guided the radon pipe to the exterior of the home where we installed the radon fan to the exterior of the home.
Radon Fan Installed
We installed the radon fan on the exterior of the home and then vented the system above the roofline.
