Photo Album: Major Water Intrusion, Bedford, NH

A homeowner in Bedford, New Hampshire, had bought their home two years ago. Since owning the property, the basement has flooded three times - once in the first year and twice this past year. The homeowner wants to find a solution to prevent further flooding and contacted Erickson Foundation Solutions for a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist, Victor Tapia, met with the homeowners and looked at the basement to find a solution to prevent further water intrusion and flooding. After the inspection, Victor recommended installing WaterGuard, Trench Drain, TripleSafe Sump Pump, IceGuard, and a buried exterior discharge line into the basement.   Our installation team began by chipping out 185 feet of concrete around the perimeter of the basement using a jackhammer and then lugging the debris out of the basement in buckets. After removing the concrete, the team dug down a couple of inches to accommodate our perimeter drainage into the trench. The team then installed crushed stone and the drainage into the trench. In the lowest point of the basement, our team removed enough concrete and dirt to install our basin for our TripleSafe. Once the basin was set, we plumbed the sump pump to the home's exterior where we installed our two IceGuards and 25 feet of Exterior Drainage Line. After the exterior drainage was set up, they started to mix up concrete. We then covered the perimeter drainage around the sump pump with concrete to lock them into place and allow items to be placed back where they were.   The homeowners were pleased with the installation of the perimeter drainage system in their basement. They no longer have to worry about their basement flooding during periods of rain.
