A homeowner in Bedford, New Hampshire bought their home about a year ago and noticed signs of water entering the basement during the inspection. The house was built in 2000, and they intended to live in it for life. To address the issue, they called EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist, Isaac Hernandez, met with the homeowner and inspected the basement for water penetration. After the inspection, Isaac recommended installing a perimeter drainage system to prevent water and moisture penetration.
Our installation team, led by Gunther Billhardt, started by chipping out 50 feet of concrete along the back foundation wall and creating a space for installing the perimeter drainage and sump pump. The team used a jackhammer to break up the concrete and then installed 48 feet of WaterGuard into the trench.
Next, we installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump at one end of the drainage to collect any water that the drainage might gather and send it outside the house. We also plumbed the sump pump outside the home, where we installed 2 IceGuards and buried 10' of Exterior Drainage Line directed away from the foundation.
After the exterior drainage was installed, our team returned to the basement to install the CleanSpace Wall System along the back foundation wall. The wall system collects water from the wall and guides it into the perimeter drainage and then into the sump pump. Our team also installed our SaniDry Sedona next to the TripleSafe.
Finally, the team mixed concrete and covered the perimeter drainage and around the TripleSafe to lock everything into place. The homeowners were thrilled with the results of the project and relieved that they no longer had to worry about water entering their forever home's basement.
Basement Before
The homeowner had concerns about water entering the basement.
WaterGuard and CleanSpace
The team installed 48 feet of WaterGuard and CleanSpace Wall System on the back wall of the foundation.
TripleSafe Installed
In the corner of the basement, we installed our TripleSafe to collect and pump out the water.
SaniDry Sedona Installed
Next to the sump pump we installed our SaniDry Sedona and fed the discharge line into the sump pump basin.
Exterior Drainage
The team installed 2 IceGuards (pictured) and our 10-foot exterior drainage line out into the yard. This will carry water away from the foundation.
