Photo Album: Cold Floors Above Crawlspace, Hudson, MA
A homeowner in Hudson, Massachusetts has been living in their home for 13 years and is currently upgrading things around the house. During winter, they noticed that the floors above their crawlspace get cold. It turns out that the insulation in their crawlspace has been pulled down, possibly due to pests or other reasons. The homeowner reached out to EFS to have their crawlspace inspected for free. After the inspection, our Design Specialist, Issac Hernandez, recommended insulating the crawlspace with SilverGlo, TerraBlock, CleanSpace, and RimJoist Insulation to help keep the floors and the home warm.
Our Installation Team then removed the old insulation from between the floor joists and started installing our SilverGlo and TerraBlock insulation products. The SilverGlo foam insulation was installed against the wall and rim joists to create a barrier that prevents drafts of cold air from entering the crawlspace. TerraBlock insulation, on the other hand, was installed to insulate the floor of the crawlspace and prevent cold from seeping in from below. After installing these two insulation products, our team encapsulated the crawlspace with CleanSpace. We covered the entire crawlspace floor and walls with CleanSpace to provide a vapor barrier. Finally, our team sprayed Rim Joist Insulation around the rim joist of the crawlspace for added protection.
The homeowners were very pleased with the work done by our team. They were surprised to see that their crawlspace looked cleaner after we installed the insulation.
