Photo Album: Standing Water in Basement After Rain Storm, Bedford, NH
A homeowner in Bedford, New Hampshire has been living in their house since 1985. They noticed that water would enter their partially finished basement and collect on the floor, which became a bigger issue when the basement flooded twice between May and October 2023. The second flood had 3 inches of standing water, which required the assistance of ServePro to remove the water and some of the damaged items. After the second flood, the homeowner decided that enough was enough and that they needed a permanent solution.
They contacted Erickson Foundation Solutions to inspect their basement and find a solution to prevent water from accumulating in the basement. Our Design Specialist, Josh Phillips, met the homeowner and inspected the basement. After the inspection, Josh suggested installing a perimeter drainage system throughout the entire basement.
Our installation team, led by Anthony LoCascio, started by removing over 100 feet of concrete around the perimeter of the basement so that they could install the perimeter drainage and sump pump. After removing the concrete, we installed 135 feet of WaterGuard and a TripleSafe. Next, the team connected the system to the exterior of the house, where they installed our IceGuard and Exterior Drainage Line to carry water away from the foundation of the home. Once the drainage line was installed, our team returned to the basement to cover the perimeter drainage and sump pump with concrete and installed the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to control humidity.
The homeowner was extremely happy with the results of the project. They no longer have to worry about their basement flooding and causing damage to the finished portion of their basement.
Basement Before
In the last couple of months, the basement had flooded twice with about 3" of standing water. The homeowners were looking for a solution.
Sump Pump and Drainage Installed
The team installed 135 feet of WaterGuard around the basement to collect any water and installed the TripleSafe to pump water out of the basement.
Concrete Poured
After the WaterGuard and TripleSafe were installed in place the team mixed up concrete to pour over the perimeter drainage and around the sump pump.
Exterior Drainage and IceGuard Installed
The team plumbed the TripleSafe to the exterior of the home where we installed two IceGuards and a drainage line to carry water away from the foundation wall.
