This homeowner in Malden, MA was concerned with the condition of their concrete driveway. The area where they parked their cars was comprised of several concrete slabs, many of which were sunken and uneven. Over the years, the homeowner noticed how the concrete continued to settle, creating trip hazards and making it difficult to shovel snow from in the winter. Replacing the concrete with a new driveway would be costly and take weeks to complete, and so they were glad to discover an alternative solution in PolyLevel.
Our design specialist met with them to discuss the benefits of our PolyLevel concrete repair services, highlighting how the repairs would take just a day to complete, and would not require the demolition or removal of any existing concrete. On the scheduled day of installation, or production team arrived and laid out their plan for lifting the various slab sections for the homeowner.
In one section, the team utilized slab jacks to slightly lift and loosen a concrete slab. This was done to prevent any unwanted cracking while it was lifted with PolyLevel by ensuring it was not bound up in the soil. PolyLevel was then injected throughout the concrete driveway to lift, level, and stabilize the entire area. The homeowner was really impressed to see one section raise up an inch and a half to become level again. To further protect the concrete against future settlement concerns, our team then injected NexusPro, a silicone based caulking, into each joint throughout the driveway. By sealing the cracks and joints, rain water can no longer flow directly beneath the slab and erode away soil, which is what caused the settlement concerns to begin with.
The trip hazards were removed, and the driveway was protected, leaving this homeowner with a safe home and a permanent solution to their problem.
