Photo Album: Cracked Garage Slab and Foundation Concerns, Epsom, NH

A homeowner in Epsom, New Hampshire has lived in their home for about 8 years. The home was originally built in 1985 and now that the homeowners have lived here for a couple of years, they are noticing some changes in their home. They noticed cracking in the slab inside their garage, and some cracking and shifting of their foundation wall. Since they have noticed these cracks not much has changed but the homeowners would still like them looked at. They called EFS for a free inspection of their garage and basement. Our Design Specialist Anthony Brancato met with the homeowner and inspected the cracks in the garage and basement to find a solution. Anthony's inspection revealed that the cracks in the garage were caused by the slab sinking slightly, and the cracks in the foundation were because of the slight bowing of the foundation wall. Because of this Anthony recommended installing PolyLevel and NexusPro in the garage and 10 PowerBraces into the basement to solve their concerns.  Our installation team led by Eric Witham and Tyler Oslizlo began by installing the wall braces in the basement. We secured our galvanized steel beam against the foundation wall and secured them by using an L bracket and our top bracket that was installed into the floor system. Once installed the team tightened the top bracket to slowly start straightening the wall. After the PowerBraces were installed our PolyLevel team arrived and began to inject polymer foam beneath the slab to fill any void. After the team was done filling the void we then plugged all of the holes with universal concrete and then moved on to sealing all of the cracks with NexusPro.  After the project, the homeowners expressed their appreciation for Erickson for a successful job.
