Photo Album: Detached Garage Was Sinking, Freedom, NH
This homeowner in Freedom, New Hampshire is the original owner of this home. About 3 years ago the homeowners noticed some trip hazards starting to form on the slab of their detached garage. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their detached garage. Our Design Specialist Jason Vachon met with the homeowners and talked to them about their concerns. They were concerned with tripping hazards within the garage. Jason inspected the garage and found some cracking on the slab and tripping hazards forming, but Jason also found that the front of the garage had sunk approximately 5 inches. To repair this issue Jason recommended installing 5 Push Piers, PolyLevel, and NexusPro. The piers will prevent further settlement and could lift the structure back to its original height, the PolyLevel will lift and stabilize the slab, and the NexusPro will seal all of the cracks in the garage.
Our installation team led by Neal Foley and Nick Melo began by exposing the foundation of the garage. After the foundation was exposed we then installed our Push Pier brackets onto the foundation. We then started to press the 3' sections of piers until we reached sufficient pressure. After the piers were fully installed and the foundation was stabilized we backfilled over them and moved on to installing PolyLevel inside the garage. The goal with the PolyLevel was to fill any void underneath the slab and lift in any area that needed lift. To do this our team created small port holes using a 1/2" drill bit so we could inject the PolyLevel beneath the slab. Once the void was filled and the concrete was lifted the team then plugged the holes with universal concrete and began sealing the cracks with NexusPro. The team sealed 210' of cracks throughout the garage.
