Photo Album: Radon Concerns in 1950s Home, Andover, MA
A homeowner in Andover, Massachusetts, has lived in their home for the past 2 years. A few months ago they became worried about the radon levels inside their home when their neighbor told them about the radon system that they installed into their home. After learning about the high radon levels in their area they called EFS for a radon inspection. Our Design Specialist tested the home for radon and then talked with the homeowners about installing a radon system into their home. While speaking with the homeowners about their radon system they asked if we could replace the sump pump in their basement. We were able to add a sump pump replacement to the project along with the radon system.
Our installation team began by creating an extraction point in the basement to collect radon from beneath the home. We then used PVC pipe to carry the radon from the extraction point to the radon fan that will be installed on the exterior of the home. Once the fan was installed to the PVC pipe the team then vented the system above the roofline of the home. After the radon system was fully installed the team removed the old sump pump and increased the size of the basin so we could install our TripleSafe. The TripleSafe was installed and plumbed to the exterior of the home where we installed our IceGuard and drainage line.
