Photo Album: SmartJacks installed in Basement, Worcester, MA
A homeowner in Worcester, Massachusetts lives in a home that was built in the year 1900. They purchased the home 10 years ago and hope to sell it in a few years. To help the selling process the homeowners have been doing projects that need to be done before they sell. One of the projects on the list was adding better supports in the basement. The existing supports are wooden and rotting. The homeowners contacted EFS for a free inspection of their basement to find better supports for their basement. Our Design Specialist Mark Proctor met with the homeowner and he recommended installing 4 SmartJacks into their basement under the main beam to support the floor system of the home.
Our Installation Team led by Steve Maggio began by chipping and digging out space for our big footings to be installed. We made sure the footings were level and then we installed the SmartJacks to the main beam. Once secured to the main beam and everything was double-checked, we mixed concrete and poured it over the footings to lock it into place.
