Photo Album: 1950s Home Has Continuous Seepage into Basement, Rockport, MA
A homeowner in Rockport, Massachusetts, lives in a home that was built in the 1950s. The home sits on waterfront property since the owners purchased the home in 2016 they have always seen water seeping into their basement. They decided they would like to find a solution to make the sale of their home easier in the future. They reached out to EFS for a free inspection and our Design Specialist Keith Soper met with the homeowners. Keith then did a full inspection of the inside and outside of the basement. After he completed his inspection of the inside and outside of the home he recommended installing WaterGuard, an UltraSump, IceGuard, exterior drainage, and a SaniDry Sedona into the home.
Our Installation Team, led by Gunther and Paul, began by chipping out concrete along the left side of the basement so we could install our perimeter drainage and sump pump. The left side was where they had most of the seepage occurring in their basement. After 30' of concrete was chipped out the team installed WaterGuard and the UltraSump into the chipped-out section of concrete. Once the perimeter drainage and sump pump were in place the team then linked the two systems and then plumbed the sump to the exterior of the home where we installed our IceGuard and Exterior Drainage Line. After the drainage was installed the team returned back inside the basement mixed concrete and poured it over the WaterGuard and around the UltraSump. After the concrete cured the team then installed the SaniDry next to the sump pump and placed the discharge line into the basin of the pump.
